The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust, the registered charity which built is delighted to announce Tornado's main line tours programme for the first half of 2017. UK Railtours are the booking agent for all tours that are promoted by The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust.
Mark Allatt, chairman, The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust, commented, “Tornado’s 2017 main line diary will see the locomotive crisscross Great Britain with opportunities to experience the magnificent sights and sounds that will accompany a fast, express passenger steam locomotive working hard… not to be missed!
“The programme includes several first: ‘The North Briton’ across the Settle & Carlisle Railway, starting from Leicester and ‘The Cornishman’ from London Paddington to Penzance, undoubtedly the first visit of a Peppercorn class A1 to Cornwall. With Tornado undertaking 90mph testing in 2017 as a precursor to selected high speed main line operations, 2017 promises to be an exciting year.”
There are three travel options available on The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust’s tours; First Class Dining, First Class Non-Dining and Standard Class. First Class Dining includes a silver service full English Breakfast on the outward journey and a four course dinner on the return leg both using traditional, high quality, local ingredients. First Class Non-Dining includes complimentary tea and coffee. An on-board buffet is available in both First Class Non-Dining and Standard Class.
