Coal4Energy, a subsidiary of Hargreaves Services, is donating the coal to be used during the "Help for Heroes" train running on the 8th of October.
In 2006, Hargreaves Services formed a joint venture company in partnership with UK Coal - Coal4Energy Limited - to market domestic and industrial coal in the UK and abroad, using the complementary expertise and resources of the two partner companies. Progress was swift, and in January 2009 Hargreaves Services bought UK Coal’s stake in the company, thereby making Coal4Energy a wholly-owned subsidiary in the Hargreaves group of companies.
Coal4Energy has unrivalled access to the widest range of coal products, sourced from the UK and abroad; UK Coal has now granted the company the exclusive right to market all of its domestic and industrial coal production (approximately 250,000 tonnes per year). Coal4Energy satisfies the demands of a diverse market; customers include large industrial users, hospitals, prisons, schools, steam railways, traction engine operators and others involved in steam-raising applications, plus coal merchants who supply coal to the general public for domestic heating.
The key to Coal4Energy’s success rests on its ability to satisfy customers’ needs in terms of coal quality, availability, price and amenity.
