Tornado will be on display and giving brake van rides throughout the day. The Centre will be open from 10.00am to 

4.30pm. Covenantors and up to two guests are entitled to free entry to this event on production of their 2013 

Covenantor card. 

 

For those of you who may not have visited Crewe Heritage Centre before, there are several other attractions on the site, 

including the last remaining Advanced Passenger Train set, signal boxes and a miniature railway. Tornado’s visit to 

Crewe will also coincide with a vintage Routemaster Bus Rally on 27th and 28th April. The Trust will have a stall selling a 

wide range of merchandise, including some items new for 2013 and Trustees will be on hand to talk to. 

 

If you are unable to attend the Spring Day Out, Crewe Heritage Centre has very kindly said that the offer of free entry 

can be used on the other days that Tornado is in steam at the Centre -Sunday 21st and Sunday 28th April 2013. Again, 

please bring your Covenantor card in order to take up this very generous offer.

Tuesday 11th June 2013. This is a reprise of the highly successful 2012 ‘Elizabethan’ – with a difference. On this 

occasion, Tornado will haul the down ‘Elizabethan’ to Edinburgh and Deltic D9009 Alycidon will haul the up ‘Elizabethan’ 

to London King’s Cross. Further details including ticket prices, provisional timings and calling points can be found on the
