As you may already be aware, Tornado failed on the return leg of a rail tour to Holyhead on Saturday 20th April due to a faulty air pump.  

It is imperative that we return Tornado to full working order as quickly as possible and this includes a requirement for the boiler to be cooled down to facilitate a washout and the removal of parts for repair.  Unfortunately this means that the locomotive will not be in steam for this Saturday's Covenantor Spring Day Out.  We apologise for this disappointing news and hope that, as Tornado will still be on display, you will be able to join us at Crewe Heritage Centre. 

We are now looking at the operational diary for the next few months to see if we can organise another event for Covenantors with Tornado in steam.
