Darstaed Models was acquired by Andries Grabowsky, a Dutchman, in 1993. The company has been making tinplate models in 'O' gauge ever since. The company is proud to announce its first engine, the Peppercorn A1
Tornado that will be produced in exclusive arrangement with The A1 Steam Trust. The model will feature traditional three rail electric pick up and other Peppercorn A1's will also be produced. The engines will be British Built and guaranteed with Mike Green of Wynford Classics in Somerset.

The tin-plate production is based on newest technologies in the European tool manufacturing, industrial production and optical arrangements. Tin-plate is therefore not just a matter of simple replicas of old models but is a continuation and perfection of the tradition of the 1930's. With these features in mind, Darstaed took over the reproduction and thus enabled enlargement of tin-plate collections. Darstaed's range of coaches makes handling and playing really easy. This represents a beautiful contrast to a hectic world, which requires us to be serious about things most of the time – even in railway modelling.
