The dedicated donation scheme for Tornado is being closed on 31st December 2011.  The Trust has raised nearly £250,000 with this fundraising method and there are still some interesting parts to be snapped up before its conclusion.

We have found that many people wished to support the construction of the locomotive by providing the finance for a specific part. A dedicated donation gave them the opportunity to do so. Although Tornado is now completed, funds are still needed to keep her on the main line and many parts are still available for sponsorship.  You can find out more here.

In recognition of the support people sponsoring a part will have:

• Their name inscribed on the official role of honour at Darlington Locomotive Works which will detail the parts sponsored

• A certificate recording the details of the sponsorship and a copy of the engineering drawing for the part sponsored.
