The "Tamar Devonian" runs to Plymouth on Saturday 25th September.  This is the first time GWR 6024 King Edward I and 60163 Tornado will have worked together. An historic occasion!

The tour starts with diesel haulage from pick up stations to Bristol, where the King will be ready to take over for the initial run across the Somerset Levels to Taunton and a water stop. At Taunton Tornado joins the train, fresh from three weeks at the West Somerset Railway. Then it's on over the Blackdown Hills to Exeter and along the famous south Devon sea wall, with its fabulous views, before skirting the undulating flank of Dartmoor, and the steep climbs of Dainton and Rattery banks, culminating in the final run down into Plymouth.

Late afternoon the special train departs Plymouth, giving a second chance to enjoy the great scenery and hear two popular steam engines hard at work on the undulating route all the way back to Bristol where they surrender the train to modern traction once more.

While The A1 Trust appreciates people coming to see Tornado in action we must ask that the general public stays safely on the right side of the fence and only goes where permitted.
