We are very disappointed to announce that we are unable visit the Ribble Steam Railway (RSR) with Tornado as previously announced.
It was necessary to withdraw the locomotive from this visit because it has been discovered, during the checking process which precedes such a visit, that there is a curve on the access to RSR that is too tight for Tornado to traverse. This means that there is a significant risk of damage to the locomotive and also of derailment.
Great efforts have been made by both the Ribble Steam Railway and the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust to make this visit happen and we hope everyone will understand the reasons why it will not now go ahead.
