The number of orders placed for Tornado merchandise via the on-line shop passed the 3,000 mark in Mid-August. The on-line ordering facility was set up once Tornado commenced main line operations and the merchandise range was rapidly expanded from the early days of the Tornado Story book and pens. Orders placed via the on-line shop are dealt with by volunteers. The stock to meet orders placed is kept in a storage facility just outside Cannock in South Staffordshire. This also provides all the stock that is sold on trains operated by Tornado and at events and heritage lines visited by Tornado.
