Since completion in 2008 Tornado has quickly become a star of TV with appearances on programmes such as BBC 'Top Gear.' The interest in the locomotive has seen demand increase for Tornado related merchandise, and therefore The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust has announced that it has partnered with one of the UK’s leading internet retailers to undertake warehousing and fulfilment services.
Mark Allatt , chairman of The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust explained:
“www.OnTracks.co.uk is a long established Internet retails of model and hobby products, including model railways. With over ten years experience of processing and dispatching models they were the perfect team to handle our growing mail order sales. All orders placed through the Trust's website or mail order address will be swiftly dispatched from the OnTracks premises. We’re delighted they are supporting the Trust with an incredibly professional offering at a competitive cost to ourselves.”
OnTracks will also offer their own customers the full range of Tornado merchandise through its www.OnTracks.co.uk website.
“We not surprisingly have a number of rail enthusiasts in the company, and offering to undertake the fulfilment for the Trust seemed an excellent way of helping it in its aims", added Fiona Mulhall, OnTracks' managing director, “Even I, whilst not a rail enthusiast, thought the Tornado story and it’s public debut was something to be excited about. So when my team started describing what the Trust needed to undertake in selling memorabilia to raise funds, I realised we could offer our experience and bulk buying power to help the Trust.”
