Long-standing member of the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust, Mark Allatt, has decided to step back from his role as a Trustee and Council member with immediate effect. Mark has been associated with the Trust for over 30 years, 27 years of which were as a Trustee, including 16 years as Chairman. Mark has made a significant contribution to the Trust’s fortunes over the years, helping to bring
Tornado from a challenging idea to successful reality. He was also a driving force behind the plans to build a new Gresley P2,
Prince of Wales.
Chairman of the Trust, Steve Davies MBE, said of Mark, "Mark can be rightly proud of the major contribution he has made to the Trust
over the last 30 years, especially in the area of fundraising. His energy, drive and imagination were at the heart of most of the major projects pursued by the Trust, and I am joined by my Trust colleagues in wishing him well in the future."
