On Sunday night (January 30th) at 8.00pm, Channel 5 is repeating its programme "Britain's Secret Schindler: Revealed" about Nicholas Winton. The precis is as follows: "This story of young Jews fleeing pre-war Czechoslovakia is instantly moving, from the opening moments onwards. We hear how in 1939, groups of children were evacuated to Britain to escape the Nazi occupation, many saying goodbye to parents or siblings they would never see again. The mastermind behind the operation was a young London stockbroker called Nicholas Winton. He's still alive today, aged 101, and along with many of the survivors he helped, he looks back on the terrible events. The human stories, complete with poignant pre-war family photos and footage, are heartbreaking."
The bonus for followers of Tornado is that "The Winton Train", run in September 2009 and headed for its British leg by Tornado, is featured in the final section of the documentary.
