Tyseley 101 - Open weekend at Tyseley Locomotive Works

Tornado returns to her birthplace at Tyseley where her frames were laid - back in 1997 Tyseley Locomotive Works in Birmingham assembled Tornado's frames and married them to the inside cylinder casting. On the weekend of the 27th and 28th of June Tornado returns to Tyseley as a complete locomotive for Tyseley 101, an open weekend celebrating the 101st year in the work's life. it will be a chance to see replicas of the earliest and the last steam passenger engines posed side by side: Locomotion and Tornado (new builds).
There will be a Moor Street station centenary event with Chiltern Railways connections from Marylebone, Banbury, Leamington, Warwick Parkway and Solihull stopping additionally at Tyseley and Moor Street (Saturday only).

Limited free site car parking available.Tyseley Locomotive Works is 5 minutes walk from Tyseley Station. Please consider coming by train and parking at a station on the Shakespeare Line from Stratford. Some London Midland trains stop at Tyseley and, on Saturday, some Chiltern trains will also stop. Travel West Midlands Bus No. 37 passes the entrance to Tyseley Locomotive Works with a 10 minute service. All attractions subject to availability and not guaranteed. No dogs allowed. However we are happy to accommodate dogs for the disabled by prior notice. Some access limitations apply for the disabled.
