Work continues at the Mid Hants Railway on the C exam for Tornado so that she is ready for the 2012 season. So far all the brake gear has been dismantled and inspeted and found to be in excellent condition. The boiler has had its insurance inspection and passed its cold exam, the hot exam being planned for February. All the gauges on the loco and support coach have been taken for calibration checks and the two injectors have been removed for servicing back at Darlington Locomotive Works.
Work is now concentrating on the valve and piston exam and various smaller tasks including safety valve examination, servicing of the rear air pump and other miscellaneous items.
